⏳Reagan’s Roundup #60

Issue #60 The 10 Best Productivity Books, Pastors & Time Management, Busy & Guilty, The Parable of the Talents, How to Delegate, and more.

Dear steward,

In this issue of Reagan’s Roundup we’ll be looking at The 10 Best Productivity Books, Pastors & Time Management, Busy & Guilty, The Parable of the Talents, How to Delegate, and more.

I’m feeling good today! Because yesterday I finished going through the edits for my Redeeming Productivity book and I returned it to the publisher. Now, I’m eager to put my full attention back on Redeeming Productivity—the ministry, not the book (I have a feeling this is going to get confusing).

Here’s an encouragement as you finish out the week:

“The Lord is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.” – Psalm 145:13

Now let’s get into this week’s Roundup!

✨ New on Redeeming Productivity

✍️ Why You Feel Guilty When You’re Busy (3 mins)

Having a bunch of unfinished tasks doesn't just make you feel anxious, it makes you feel guilty. But why?

🎙 A Closer Look at the Parable of the Talents (52 mins)

Christian productivity is all about stewardship. In this episode, I take an in-depth look at what the Bible says about stewardship in Matthew 25:14–30.

Make sure you're subscribed to the Redeeming Productivity Show so you don't miss an episode.

Pastors Report Struggling With Time Management, Over-Commitment (5 mins)

A lot of interesting data points in this study. It doesn’t surprise me, though. Pastoring comes with a high degree of autonomy which brings uncertainty about priorities and often leads to the vicious cycle of overcommitment and time-wasting.

“The primary needs pastors face in their personal lives focus on how they handle their time and work. Half (51%) say time management is an aspect that needs attention or investment today, while 43% specifically point to developing a balance between work and home.”

Top 10 Books on Productivity (2 mins)

I wrote this list for Reformed Youth Ministries’ 50th-anniversary series. Here’s a full list of other top 10 articles in this series.

How to Decide Which Tasks to Delegate (4 mins)

“When I reach Peak Ping — a sense that I don’t have room for yet another request without sacrificing my sanity or my strategic projects — I take a moment to focus on what matters most, and remind myself that I don’t have to fly solo in my day-to-day work.”

(Jenny Blake / Harvard Business Review)

American Gospel: Christ Crucified is Free This Week

The excellent documentary “American Gospel: Christ Crucified” is available free on AGTV this week leading up to Resurrection Sunday. If you haven’t seen this yet, now’s your chance!

The Case for Calling It Quits at Noon Every Day (3 mins)

“I made the goal to really improve my morning routine and be up and working by 6:30 a.m. and stop at noon every day, giving me five and a half hours to get work done before calling it quits. The results have surprised even me. For the first time in my life, I feel like I’m actually able to get things done without struggling through.”

Reformers NFT

If you listen to my podcast, you know I’m excited about the opportunities that crypto, web3, and NFTs will bring to Christians online. I really do believe we're at the front end of the next big phase of the internet.

And that’s exactly what Reformers NFT is all about. This project brings together like-minded believers who want to be part of building the next version of the web.

Holding one of these tokens acts as a key to getting you deeper access into that community as well as unlocking some other really cool benefits. In fact, just one of the many cool things you unlock by having a Rerformers NFT is a coupon to any one of my Redeeming Productivity courses 100% free.

So if you're a Christian who is interested in the web3 world, I would encourage you to check out Reformers NFT.
